[ENGLISH VERSION]

  1. What were the feedbacks for Circle ?

It got really good feedback, it won album of the year in Metal Hammer Germany and it sold gold in Finland and over all it did better then the previous once in a lot of countries so it went down really well.

  1. It's now been 25 years since Amorphis was created, did you think the band would last that long ?

At that time I don't think anyone even thought about it, but later on it has become more of a liftime work.

  1. How did you go at composing this new album ? When did you start working on it ?

We started sharing ideas in the autumn 2014. We first started to rehearse them in february this year and continued until april when we entered the studio around easter.

  1. How did the anniversary shows for Tales From The Thousand Lakes go ? Any particular good moments you remember ?

Those shows have been a blast. I think almost all of them have gone really well, I think once we had some technical issues but other than that it's been fantasic. We didn't play in the US for some time and now we did with Tales one show in Baltimore which was probably one of the best.

Pekka is still writing the lyrics with the help of the Kalevala but who composed the music ?

What has ended on the album is mostly Esas, Santeris and Tomis songs, Jens Bogren who produced it also came with some nice ideas. I guess it's safe to say that we all worked our asses off with this one.

  1. How did you come to work with all those guests ? Why this decision ? How did that go ?

Martin Lopez (Soen/ ex-Opeth) is an old friend of mine, when his band Soen played in Helsinki we met and I asked him if he would be interested in playing some percussion on the album since we recorded in Stockholm where he lives. He is a great drummer and percussionist and it was fun to do something together with him. Aleah Standbrige who did the female voice and Chrigel Glanzmann (Eluveitie) who played the flute came from Jens Bogrens contacts. We have had some female voices on the previous albums too and for the other it's always better to have the real thing othervise we would have had to do it with synth.

7) Is this return to a more aggressive and in-your-face metal a temporary thing or something that will last longer than one album ?

It's hard to say but now it felt really good and maybe the album as a whole is more in line with not too many different styles mixied in it.

  1. Are you trying to come back to a sound you had during Silent Waters because parts in The Skull sound a bit similar to Sign from that album ?

No, we haven't tried to go back to anything. This is completely new stuff if it sound like Amorphis it's a good thing.

  1. What is this oriental-sounding string instrument we hear during Death of a King ? Who's playing ?

It's Esa with his electric sitar, he has used it sometimes in the past too.

10)There rarely was any female voice in Amorphis and in this album, we can hear a woman singing in the final track, White Night, is this Aleah Stanbridge ? Will you try to include more of it in the future ?

You never know, she did a great job and if we would record with Jens again the probably yes. She is also singing on The Four Wise Ones. Usually the guest musicians are people who are around at that time.

  1. Do you have any concerts planned in France with Arch Enemy and Nightwish ?

We will play in Caen, Lyon, Paris, Toulouse and Épinal not all of them are with Nightwish but most are.

  1. One day, you find a magic lamp with a genie inside who offers you three wishes, what would they be ?

Peace, Love & Happiness
